How the calculator picks your tier
Most price pages show a table and leave you to work out your row. That’s backwards — you don’t choose a speed, your flight chooses it. The calculator counts the working days between today and your arrival, then shows the cheapest tier that still gets the visa to you first.
- Working days, not calendar days. Immigration processes Monday to Friday. A Thursday standard application doesn’t become a Monday visa — the weekend doesn’t count. That’s how “a week to spare” quietly turns into an urgent order.
- The Vietnamese afternoon cut-off. Hourly tiers run on GMT+7 working hours. Submit at 9 AM in New York and it’s 8 PM in Hanoi — the countdown starts next morning. The calculator warns you when your date is close.

Should you just apply yourself?
Often, yes. If your arrival is more than two weeks away, your nationality is on the standard list, your passport has six months left and you don’t mind a government form that sometimes times out, $25 on evisa.gov.vn is the sensible choice.

How much does a Vietnam eVisa cost in total?

Is the government fee refunded if I’m refused?

Why do the hourly tiers cost so much more?
They run on Vietnamese working hours. An order landing late in the Hanoi afternoon has almost no working day left, so an hourly tier means handling it outside normal queue order. Weekends cost most because there’s no standard weekend queue to join. What’s realistic when you fly soon.
Are the prices per person?
Yes. Every traveller, children included, needs their own eVisa; there’s no family application. Bank transfer is available for groups of five or more.
