Short answer: "You are required to complete all the blanks in the application form" rarely means a field is actually empty. It is a standard message that comes back when immigration isn't satisfied with an answer. By far the most common cause is the address in Vietnam. A new browser, device or connection won't help. What helps is changing the answers.
Fix the address first
These are too vague and often trigger the message:
- A city on its own: "Hanoi", "Ho Chi Minh City".
- An area: "District 1", "Old Quarter".
- A hotel name with no street or house number.
- A province that doesn't match what you picked in the drop-down.
Use a full address: number, street, ward, district, city/province. If you haven't booked yet, use the full address of a real hotel in the city where you arrive. The address isn't binding, but it has to be complete and real.
Then check the "optional-looking" fields
The form asks for occupation, employer or school name and address, permanent address with phone number, and an emergency contact. Leaving them blank, or writing "N/A", can send the application back. Fill them in properly. If you are retired or not working, say so and give your home address.
When the form isn't the problem
If you have fixed everything and it keeps coming back, it may be under closer review. That can happen with certain occupations (media, military, NGO or religious work), dual nationality, or a child included in a parent's application. After two or three identical returns, stop resubmitting unchanged. Each round costs days.
Timing: immigration doesn't work at weekends, so a Friday resubmission is looked at from Monday.
