Short answer: yes, you can still get a Vietnam eVisa when your flight is close. The government portal has no rush option, so if you need it in days or hours you have to go through a service that handles urgent files. Ours runs from next working day down to about 1.5 hours. Which speed you need depends on two things: how many Vietnam working hours are left before you board, and whether your documents are ready right now.

Every tier below is counted from the moment we have your payment and usable documents, and all of them run on Vietnam time (GMT+7). The cut-off is the latest time of day we can still start that tier on the same day. Prices include the government fee.

The one rule people miss: working hours
"1.5 hours" means 1.5 hours inside Vietnam's working day, not 1.5 hours from any moment. If you send your file at 11 p.m. Vietnam time, nothing moves until the next morning. Because of that, a traveller in New York and a traveller in Sydney can have the same departure time and still need different tiers.
- Before the cut-off: the tier starts today.
- After the cut-off: it starts on the next working morning. If that is still too late, go up one tier.
- Friday evening to Sunday: weekday tiers stop. The Weekend tier ($258 single) is the only way to get a result on a Saturday or Sunday.
Three situations, three answers
You fly the day after tomorrow or later
Choose Next-Day ($108, 1 working day). If you have three working days or more, 2-Day ($98) is cheaper. Both leave a buffer in case your photo has to be retaken or a detail has to be fixed. You don't need to pay for the emergency tiers here.
You fly tomorrow
Same-Day ($118, about 5 hours) is the usual choice. Get the file in before the morning or early-afternoon cut-off so the result arrives with time to spare, not an hour before check-in.
You fly tonight, or you are already at the airport
Same-Day Plus ($148, about 2.5 hours) or Emergency ($178, about 1.5 hours). Message us before you pay. We confirm it is still achievable today, and only then take the order.
What slows an urgent file down
For urgent orders, the delays almost always come from the documents, not from the processing. Have these ready before you start:
- Passport bio page: a flat, sharp colour photo with all four corners visible and no glare over the name or the two code lines at the bottom. Passport valid for at least 6 months after entry.
- Portrait photo: plain light background, face straight on, no glasses, no hat. A phone photo against a white wall works if the lighting is even.
- Entry date and entry point: the eVisa is valid from the date you enter, and you have to name the airport or border gate you arrive at.
- Single or multiple entry: choose multiple if you might leave and come back, for example a side trip to Cambodia or Thailand.

Can I really get a Vietnam visa the same day?
Yes, on a working day, if you apply before the cut-off and your documents are usable. The fastest tier is about 1.5 hours.
Is urgent processing available on weekends?
Only through the Weekend tier. The weekday tiers do not run on Saturday or Sunday.
What if the eVisa comes back after my flight?

Will the airline let me board with a PDF on my phone?
Yes. The eVisa is electronic. We still recommend a printed copy, because some check-in counters and immigration officers prefer paper.
